Sheila Glass, President of the Hadassah Florida Atlantic Region (Palm Beach, Martin & St. Lucie Counties) surrounded by joyous members, former Region Presidents, Executive Board, professional staff, clergy and government representatives officially opened new offices at the Boynton Beach Professional Center, 1325 Congress Ave., Suite 209, Boynton Beach, FL 33426 on Sunday, June 3, 2018. Sheila told the crowd that “she felt the warmth of those present in the Atrium and the love they felt for Hadassah – everything it has accomplished in the past and what we will continue to do for the healthy future of our children.”

Rona Sonsky, Fundraising Vice President of Hadassah Florida Atlantic and organizer of the Office Dedication acknowledged the efforts of many people for not only making the opening a reality, but for their assistance in furthering Hadassah’s efforts. Rona Sonsky is a true reflection of Hadassah’s theme – “The Power of Women Who Do.”

Rabbi Aviva Bass of Temple Sinai of Palm Beach County affixed a Mezuzah to the doorpost of the office after sharing the meaning of the Mezuzah (a scroll containing verses from the Jewish prayer Shema Yisrael) and reciting a prayer with attendees. Mezuzah donors subsequently affixed  scrolls on each of fourteen doorposts in the office. Name plaques were placed by rooms dedicated by donors.

Mayor Steven Grant of Boynton Beach and representatives from the offices of Congresswoman Lois Frankel and State Senator Lori Berman welcomed those assembled, acknowledging the significance of this new office and Hadassah’s important work.
