We really like contemporary and colorful! Whether you are a seasoned collector or just beginning, we want all to feel welcome to the gallery. ~ Pat Brown

T Clifton Art is located in the hip Broad Avenue Arts District that boasts an array of hot shopping spots and eateries. Argus will undoubtedly greet as you enter the vibrant-colored gallery featuring glass, paintings, ceramics, sculpture, jewelry and fine art Judaica by more than 50 local and nationally acclaimed contemporary artists.

Fay Miller’s vessels (glasses used during a wedding ceremony) and mezuzah with shards are the most popular-selling Judaic pieces. They come in a wide range of colors and can be made into shabbat candlesticks and other pieces.

The Judaica is amazing, and you won’t find another piece like it in the city. “In curating works for the gallery, we seek relationships with artists who have made the medium they are working with their own,” explains Pat. “This ensures when clients walk into the gallery, their options are unique artisan works of art. Whether it’s a scarf or a menorah, each piece showcases high-quality craftsmanship and creativity. Plus, visitors to the gallery are always struck by the vibrancy and colorful selections.”

When Tom and Pat met artist Fay Miller in 2014 at a fine art show in Philadelphia, they were unaware of niche market they would create in Memphis. “Faye asked if we would consider exhibiting Judaic pieces,” said Pat. “Fortunately, we have long-time custom framing clients we could turn to for advice regarding interest in Memphis for Judaic fine art. After chatting with Fran Winstock, Leslie Landau and her daughters-in-law, Suzanne and Shelly, the opportunity to bring fine art Judaic pieces to Memphis was clear. Since then, our offerings have expanded to now feature a wide array of Judaic art as well as Jewish artists.

“We feel Judaic fine art should not be limited to galleries in New York, Boca Raton, and Los Angeles,” she continued. “The Memphis market is sophisticated and desires contemporary works. It was rewarding to receive validation for our Judaic collection from so many people during this year’s Israel Festival. Our favorite comment from one booth visitor was, ‘This quality and style is available in Memphis? Is this really available in Memphis?’”

Pat and Tom continuously scout for artists to feature in the gallery. “Fine art shows in Philadelphia, New York, Baltimore and West Palm Beach have proven to be great locations to scout artists,” said Pat. T Clifton now includes works from 11 Jewish artists.

Fay Miller’s Jubilee Horn (aka Shofar) showcases her skill and expertise. Perfectly balanced and stately, it’s a true statement piece.
