This summer, Memphians gathered in support for Israel at the MJCC. The event, coordinated by Memphis Jewish Federation, included rabbis and members from every congregation, and other who rallied as one voice.
Susan C. Nieman is a public relations/marketing professional who stumbled into publishing after spending more than 20 years in non-profit and corporate communications. In addition to writing, editing and publishing Jewish Scene Magazine for the last 17 years, Susan purchased Memphis' 97-year-old, weekly Jewish newspaper, The Hebrew Watchman in January 2021. In the middle of a pandemic! She and her husband, Larry, have their work cut out for them.
"Some people think I'm a little crazy taking on such an endeavor at a time when most would retire." But we love to work while traveling at leisure and enjoy our summers relaxing in our backyard oasis.
A closet writer as a teenager, Susan believes she might be famous after her death when her children discover her notebooks and diaries stashed in her night table and attic.
