In November 2016, Jewish Community Partners held a one-of-a-kind event celebrating the launch of their new recognition society, Pillars of the Community. Pillars represents the cumulative donors to Memphis Jewish Federation’s annual community campaign of $250,000 and above. The 41 families who make up the inaugural Pillars of the Community cohort have collectively contributed more than $50 million in support of families in need in Memphis, in Israel and around the world. The gala honoring was held in the new, state-of-the-art FedEx Event Center at Shelby Farms Park, on National Giving Tuesday — a fitting day to honor families that have shown a commitment to philanthropy for generations.
